About the Forum・フォーラムについて
From December 10th - 11th, Kansai University's Institute for Innovative Global Education (IIGE) ran a series of interactive webinars and workshops, welcoming speakers and participants from a host of countries in Asia, Europe and North America, to engage in an important discourse on the critical role COIL/VE (Virtual Exchange) plays in the future development of international education.

Join Dr. Craig Shealy and Dr. Hajime Nishitani (iBavi), Brenda García Portillo (Universidad de Monterrey), Henry Shepherd (Stevens Initiative, Aspen Institute), Darren McDermott (SHARE), and Alexander Knoth (DAAD) for a panel discussion and two parallel workshops on BEVI and COIL assessment and COIL/VE module development for intercultural learning as well as a COIL matching fair hosted by IIGE.*

Join Dr. Hiroshi Ota (Hitotsubashi University) for an interactive discussion on typology for various emerging "Online Modalities in International Education" (Japanese only) as well as a digital poster session on COIL/VE programs around the world, utilizing the KU-DX (Kansai University Digital Transformation) platform oVice.**

2018 KICK-OFF INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM
In 2018, Kansai University IIGE hosted its kick-off international symposium, titled "INNOVATIVE IDEAS AND PRACTICES
FOR GLOBAL EDUCATION IN THE 21ST CENTURY," on explorations of issues relating to the further development and growing visibility of COIL initiatives in light of the newly established IIGE. In this respect, themes of interest may include the management and development of COIL related activities with growing institutional and community awareness, how to manage formal institutional and national level collaborations (e.g., Japan and the United States), reviews of initiatives and project status, showcasing COIL pedagogy and practices, explorations of new technology and apps development, and pragmatics of administrative and logistics issues such as partner matching and facilitation.

All sessions will be FREE and open to the public.

The Forum will be held via Zoom and oVice (a digital poster presentation platform).
Registrants will receive a unique access code to enter the online platform(s) prior to the event.
Is there a registration fee?
No! All sessions are FREE.*
Will a recording be available?
The Forum is designed to be interactive and participants will benefit from live Q&A as well as networking capabilities when participating in real time. Some sessions may be recorded for registrants to view at a later date.
